Early in my career I got to read two movie scripts which came in to our office for my boss, Roger Deakins. They were both realised and I recall that both scripts were superior to the final films. Yesterday I was brought back to these memories by a small poster in a narrow street in St Ives, Cornwall.

A text from my college girl — my daughter — got me thinking about how I find sunlight in my day, no matter what the weather forecast is. I got very little sleep last night. A certain mournful puppy kept the world awake and informed as to his disapproval of sleeping in a crate. Dogsitting is fun.
Morgan - I would definitly have to say the washing machine and dishwasher! There is no better feeling than having all the dishes sparkling in the cupboards and all the laundry smelling fresh in the closets. Plus with two little ones making messes I can't imagine how much time I would spend cleaning if it weren't for those two modern appliances in my home.
